Limited Use.
SkyTasks is a task manager made by SkyWatch, an independent developer in Israel, who is the data controller under this policy. Questions, requests and your rights: skywatchcom@gmail.com. Use of the app is governed by the terms of use.
The tasks, projects, calendar events, dates and reminders you enter, and your settings. Without an account, everything stays on your device. If you create an account, your email address, your chosen language and this data are also stored on our server (Supabase, hosted in Japan) so your city is available on every device. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we also keep the first name they provide; it is the name shown to the members of your shared home (you can change it in settings). To send shared-home notifications we keep your phone's notification address (token), which is removed when you sign out.
On a phone you can connect the calendars already on it (Google, iCloud, Outlook and others). This is optional and starts only when you tap "Connect my calendars" and approve in the phone's window.
You can stop at any time: "My calendars" in settings, or the calendar permission in your phone's settings.
On the web you can connect Google Calendar: the app creates one secondary calendar named "SkyTasks" in your Google Calendar
(scope calendar.app.created) and keeps your tasks that have a date and time there. Changes you make to those events come
back to the task. The app never reads or touches any other calendar.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models. You can revoke access at any time in the app, or on your Google Account's permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions).
SkyTasks' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
To know how many people use the app and what to improve, the app sends anonymous counts to our own server (Supabase, where accounts are kept): opening and closing the app and how long it was open, adding, completing, postponing and deleting a task, moving between screens, and the use of features such as Google Calendar. Each event carries only general details: the neighborhood, whether it has a time, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer), the language, the app version, the country from the device's region and time zone settings, and whether you are signed in (not which account). The text of your tasks and notes is never sent, and neither is your email, name or account. The only identifier is a random number made on your device, and deleting your city replaces it with a new one. There is no screen recording and no location. This data is not sold or used for ads. Events are kept for a year; after that only general daily totals remain. Version 0.1.0+5 sent the same counts to PostHog (an analytics service hosted in the EU); we copy them to our server and will delete them there once everyone has updated.
On our website (the landing page and the download page) only visits are counted: which page, the kind of phone (iPhone, Android or other) and where the link came from (a Facebook post, for example). No address, device id or cookie is kept, and there is no way to tell who visited.
If you send a bug report from settings, we keep the text you wrote, the app version, the kind of device, the language, and your email address if you are signed in. It is emailed to us and stored on our server so we can fix the problem.
If you ask on our site to join the Android test, we keep the Gmail address you typed and your language. The request is emailed to us; we add the address to the testers list on Google Play and send the download link to it. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
You can invite your partner (up to six adults) to a shared home. The people living with you see the name you chose for yourself, the tasks in the "Our home" neighbourhood and its shopping list, and who added or ticked each of them. The rest of your city stays private. When someone gives you a task, or ticks one you added, your phone gets a notification with the task's title only. These notifications pass through Google's messaging service (Firebase Cloud Messaging), which sees that text on the way. You can leave the home at any time from settings; its tasks stay with whoever remains, and you get a copy of what was assigned to you.
If you tap the microphone in the add bar, your speech is turned into text by your device's speech recognition service (Google's or Apple's). We don't keep recordings.
No ads. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We don't collect location, contacts or photos.
Reminders are scheduled on your device and only shown if you allow notifications.
You can delete tasks at any time. In settings, "Delete account" removes your account and all its data from our server and your device. You can also email skywatchcom@gmail.com from the account's address and we will remove everything within 30 days. Full steps are on the account deletion page.
The app is meant for adults. Accounts with an email address are for ages 13 and up.
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Every row on the server belongs to an account, and the server lets each account read and change only its own rows and those of its shared home. Passwords are stored hashed by our account provider and are never visible to us. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will email you.
Each receives only what its job needs, and none may use the data for its own purposes.
You can export your tasks yourself, as a table or a calendar file, from settings (Account → Export my tasks). You can also ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw any consent you gave (for example to Google Calendar) at any time. Write to skywatchcom@gmail.com from your account's address; we answer within 30 days. In Israel you may also contact the Privacy Protection Authority, and in the EU the supervisory authority of your country. Data is kept while you have an account; anonymous usage events for one year.
When something material changes, we show it in the app or on the website before it takes effect. The date above marks the current version.
